We are now taking reservations for the Fox Hunt Attenuated Tape Measure Yagi Antenna Build Session. This is a two-day build program, in which we will build the attenuator kit on the first day and then build the antenna and assemble the attenuator to the antenna on the second day.
The scheduled build dates are Saturday, 12 July 2025 and Saturday 19 July 2025. There will only be one session scheduled, and seats are limited with first come, first served access to the session. Get your reservation in soon to ensure getting a seat!

This antenna is built from some common items like the blade of a one-inch-wide tape measure, plastic electrical conduit, a bicycle handlebar grip, some RG-58 coaxial cable with connectors, and some 3-D printed fittings that serve to hold it all together. The fittings are attached via the use of some 6-32 machine screws.
The attenuator unit is a 4MHz offset attenuator that is the product of John Clements KC9ON, an active ham from Michigan. John has made his attenuator kits available to us at a reasonable price, and his attenuator is a very popular item in the overall fox hunt arsenal. Our antenna design has the attenuator mounted directly to the antenna boom, within easy reach of the handgrip. Due to the fact that the attenuator has a BYPASS mode, we can leave the attenuator mounted and connected to the antenna at all times.
All of the necessary parts will be pre-cut and gathered into kits for convenience. There is some measurement to be done for the proper placement of the various parts along the boom, and some soldering is required. However, this is a kit that can be assembled by anyone at all, regardless of the individual soldering skill level.
Think about it seriously, and then, if you decide that you could use an antenna like this one, sign up for the build by completing the form below…
